This isn’t her final destination.

Little towns where everything closes at dusk. No place for a vampire, especially her, used to night clubs and bustling streets at all hours.

Where is she really going? New York? Las Vegas? Places for humans who are nocturnal by nature, who live and work by night, sleep by day.

But I’m always one day, one town behind her.

I should let her go. There are times when a vampire wants to disappear, begin a new life elsewhere. One day we will meet again, even if it is decades away.

But she never said goodbye.
